One Last Visit from Grandma and Grandpa Scheer

Yesterday we said goodbye to Matt's parents after a week long visit here in Spokane. They came up one last time before heading back to Rwanda next month. Unfortunately Matt couldn't take any time off work and had an extremely busy week so he didn't get to see them as much as he would have liked, but all together we had a great time. They are so helpful with Blake and love to play with him and I was able to get some time to myself. We went strawberry picking one day at Green Bluff and brought home 24 lbs of strawberries! They just were so good....it was hard to resist! We made jam and strawberry rhubarb pie and froze bags and bags. Yum!
It was hard to say goodbye, but at least we were able to spend some time with them before they leave.

Ah, strawberry picking--that's a Father's Day tradition in my family! I know what you mean about hard to resist...we always end up with too many!

"This is what God the Lord says - he who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it: I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness. Isaiah 42:5-7
